The Role of Agencies in the Project
Your Role in the Project
As an Agency Subject Matter Expert (SME), your involvement in the Texas ERP project is vitally important:
- You bring experience and knowledge
- You will play a critical role in the State’s future
- You are carrying the flag for your agency and the enterprise
- You have the opportunity to make an impact
- People will make this project successful
- There is no monopoly on good ideas – everyone’s participation is needed!
Agency Activities and Interaction
Your Role in the Project
Time requirements as an Agency SME will vary depending on these factors:
- Degree of involvement with various implementation processes (e.g. Quality Assurance, User Acceptance Testing, and Training)
- Number of PeopleSoft end users that you represent
- Personal initiative and commitment to the project
- How much work you can delegate to others
- What phase the project is in
WIIFM (What’s In It For Me?)
- Acquire new skills and career development
- Influence direction of State’s ERP solution
- Act as a change agent
- Define new organizational responsibilities and job role requirements
